Evan Greymyst Bio
Evan Greymyst, a pioneer within Second Life’s LGBTQ communities, made his mark in the virtual world under the alias DoctorSlivako, starting his journey in 2004. As a co-founder and dedicated advocate, Evan played a pivotal role in shaping the Gay Archipelago of Second Life, laying the groundwork for numerous LGBTQ clubs, lands, and events.
Throughout his virtual tenure, Evan was the proud owner of various estates and enterprises, including MGE Tiki Estates, Greymyst Estates, and Gay Fun World. Alongside his close friends HD (Herrdirektor), Crixus Ravenheart, and Zanny Mercury, he co-owned A Fun Gay World, leaving an indelible mark on the virtual landscape.
Born Evan Danuk Wade Runningbear Osceola IV, a Seminole Indian, on March 17th, 1979, Evan cherished his family life in Second Life, sharing his experiences with his children and partner. He dedicated himself to supporting newcomers and assisting with the establishment of clubs and sims, leaving a lasting legacy of generosity and compassion.
Among his notable contributions were the Gay Archipelago, Second Pride, MGE Tiki Club, and Evan’s Jazz Joint, among others. Despite life’s complexities, Evan remained a beacon of love and kindness, always making time for his friends and loved ones.
Evan’s passing on June 29th, 2023, left a profound void in the Second Life community, yet his memory lives on in the hearts of many. Today, we honor his life and legacy, celebrating the man who touched so many with his warmth and humor.
Evan’s lighthearted nature shone through even in his final jest, humorously describing himself as a “mixed-up confused little man” born in a Presbyterian Hospital to Catholic parents, delivered by a Jewish doctor on an Irish Drinking Holiday.
As we raise our glasses in tribute, let us remember Evan as a friend, mentor, and cherished presence in our virtual world. Though he watches over us from above, his spirit remains forever with us.
We miss you, Evan. God be with you always.
