Honoring Those Who Helped Shape Our Community

The LGBTQIA+ Directory recognizes that our virtual world is built upon the love, creativity, leadership, and dedication of those who came before us. To honor these individuals, we offer a special Memorial Listing designation.

What Is a Memorial?

A Memorial within the LGBTQIA+ Directory is a permanent recognition of:

  • A founder of a venue, organization, or community
  • A long-standing leader or contributor
  • An individual whose impact significantly shaped an LGBTQIA+ space
  • A cherished member of the LGBTQIA+ community whose legacy continues to inspire others

Memorial Listings exist to preserve their story, acknowledge their contributions, and ensure their presence remains part of our shared history.

To view Memorial Listings, scroll down and select the checkbox labeled “Memorial Listing” Once selected, click the Filter button to display all listings marked as Memorial.

Permanent Listing Status

Memorial Listings are marked as Permanent within the Directory and will remain active for as long as the LGBTQIA+ Directory site itself exists. These listings are not subject to standard expiration policies.

They serve as living tributes — places where community members can remember, reflect, and celebrate the life and legacy of someone meaningful.

Special Memorial Recognition Feature

Memorial Listings include a dedicated dropdown section within the listing that:

  • Showcases the honored individual
  • Shares their story, contributions, and legacy
  • Highlights their role within the LGBTQIA+ community
  • May include photos, memories, or community tributes (when provided)

This ensures their impact is clearly visible and respectfully presented.

Requesting Memorial Status

If you would like your listing to be recognized as a Memorial, please reach out to Directory Management for review and approval.

We handle each request with care, compassion, and respect to ensure the designation reflects the true spirit of remembrance and community honor.
